Babe, a little piglet, is won at a local fair by Farmer Hoggett (Cromwell). He misses his mother and his brothers and sisters, but is soon taken under the guidance of the Hoggett’s dog, Fly. Babe becomes friends with all the other farm animals, including Ferdinand the duck, and the many sheep. Babe decides he wants to be just like Fly and under her tutelage, he learns how to herd sheep, but in his own unique way.

From Steve Oedekerk and Nickelodeon Movies, two of the co-creators of “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius,” and filmed entirely in CGI, comes this hilarious look at what really happens in a barnyard when the farmer’s back is turned. “Barnyard” is a lighthearted tale centering around Otis (voiced by Kevin James), a carefree party cow, who enjoys singing, dancing and playing tricks on humans. Unlike his father Ben (voiced by Sam Elliott), the respected patriarch of the farm, and Miles, the wise old mule (voiced by Danny Glover), Otis is unconcerned about keeping the animals’ humanlike talents a secret. But when suddenly put in the position of responsibility, the “udderly” irresponsible cow finds the courage to be a leader.

With the birth of a new litter of 11 piglets, the farmer must eliminate one so the mother can feed them. The farmer gets his ax and selects the runt of the litter when he is stopped by his daughter, Fern (Dakota Fanning). Fern begins to feed her new piglet and names him Wilbur (voice of Dominic Scott Kay). After Wilbur gets strong enough to be on his own, he is put into the barn across the road. In the new barn, he meets many different animals: cows, sheep, geese, a rat, a horse, and of course a spider named Charlotte (voice of Julia Roberts). Wilbur’s friendship with all the animals in the barn brings them all together, and they become one big happy family. There is only one problem that Wilbur doesn’t know, he is a spring pig, and they don’t usually get to see winter. Charlotte promises Wilbur that she will do something to save his life. Charlotte spins the words “some pig” in her web to show the farmer a miracle that may save Wilbur’s life. Douglas Young (the-movie-guy)
